Overview
Percentage Calculator (“the website”, “we”, “our”) is a free online percentage calculator and informational math tool developed by Varyense. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the site, how that information is handled, and the choices you have.
The website is designed to be as privacy-friendly as possible: the calculator runs entirely in your browser, your inputs are not sent to our servers, and no account is required to use any feature.
a. Data we collect
We deliberately collect very little. The information we may process falls into three narrow categories:
- Information you voluntarily submit through the contact form (name, email address, subject, message). This is used only to respond to your request.
- Standard server logs generated by our hosting provider (IP address, user-agent, requested URL, timestamp, referrer) for security, abuse prevention and uptime monitoring.
- Aggregated, anonymous usage metrics (pages viewed, approximate region, device class) used to understand how the percentage calculator is being used so we can improve it.
No sensitive personal information is stored unless you voluntarily submit it. The percentage values, numbers and amounts you type into the calculator stay inside your browser; we do not have a way to see them.
b. Cookies usage
The website may set a small number of strictly functional cookies — for example, a Laravel session cookie used to protect the contact form against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). These cookies are required for the site to function securely and do not track you across other websites.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable or delete cookies at any time using your browser settings, although some features (such as submitting the contact form) may stop working if you do.
c. Analytics tracking
If we use an analytics platform, we configure it to anonymise IP addresses and to never sell or share data. Analytics is used solely to understand aggregate patterns (which pages are visited, which devices are common, where errors occur) so we can keep the percentage calculator fast and reliable. Individual users are not profiled.
d. Third-party services and APIs
The website loads typography from a public fonts CDN (fonts.bunny.net),
a privacy-friendly mirror that does not log requests or set cookies. Outbound links to third-party websites (for example to Varyense or a
referenced article) are governed by the privacy policies of those third parties — we recommend reviewing them separately.
The percentage calculator itself does not call any third-party API to perform calculations. All math happens locally in your browser.
e. Browser storage
The percentage calculator uses your browser's localStorage to remember a few non-sensitive preferences and to keep a local calculation history that only you can see:
- Your preferred colour theme (light or dark mode).
- The decimal precision you chose (2 or 4 decimal places).
- A short history of recent calculations performed on this device.
This data never leaves your browser. You can erase it at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings or by using the “Clear” button on the calculator's history panel.
f. Anonymous usage tracking
Any usage tracking we perform is anonymous and aggregate. We may, for example, count how often a particular calculator mode is used so we know where to focus improvements. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors and we do not combine usage data with personally identifying details.
g. Contact information
When you reach us through the contact form, we receive the name, email and message you submit. We use that information only to reply to you and to keep a record of the correspondence. We do not add your email to a marketing list and we do not share it with third parties.
h. Your rights and privacy protection
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal data we hold about you, or to object to certain uses. To exercise these rights for messages you have sent through the contact form, simply reply to our correspondence or send a fresh request via the contact page with the subject “Privacy request”.
Because the percentage calculator itself does not store your inputs on a server, there is no account or saved-calculation history we can delete on your behalf — that data lives only inside your browser and you control it directly.
i. Data security
The website is served over HTTPS, which encrypts traffic between your browser and our hosting provider. Contact-form submissions are protected by a CSRF token and a hidden honeypot field that helps filter out automated spam. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect any information you submit; however, no online service can guarantee absolute security, so please avoid sending sensitive personal, financial or legal information through the contact form.
